Harrisonville Classical Christian Academy is an independent, non-denominational Christian School with a Classical Christian Education philosophy. HCCA offers a rigorous Classical Christian curriculum while partnering with parents to educate students in a historic biblical worldview. Aspiring to be a premier Classical Christian liberal arts academy. Students at HCCA are asked to think on that which is true, lovely, pure and honorable. Michelle has served in Christian and public schools for over 30 years. She founded HCCA in 2020. Michelle is a graduate of Southwest Baptist University, gaining her Bachelor of Science in Religious Education and her Master’s of Science in Education. She has spent the majority of her time teaching in the area of early childhood, Birth-3rd grades in Christian Schools and serving as a Parent Educator in the Parents As Teachers Program in several public schools. She has a heart for Christian Education with over 20 years in the classroom.
Michelle met her husband, Tracy at SBU and they have been married for 37 years. They have 3 adult sons (2 of which are married) and four grandchildren. Tracy and Michelle raised their children in Christian Education and believe that the people who are mentoring your children over 7 hours a day need to be of like faith and mind. They both have a heart for ministry and missions, helping churches and orphanages in Mexico, Italy and other places around the world as well as planting churches and schools here in the Harrisonville area. They attend Abundant Life Church. They are both members on the HCCA board and are committed to seeing a school thrive in Harrisonville that brings glory to God!

Music and Band
Jessie has an Associate of Arts in Teaching from Crowder College and a Bachelor of Science in General Studies from Missouri Southern State University. This will be Jessie's
fourth year at HCCA.
Jessie taught K-12 music in the Ballard School District for four years before becoming a stay-at-home mom for nine years. After spending a few months as the K-2 RTI Aide at East Lynne, she finished out the school year at HCCA.
Jessie and her husband John reside in Harrisonville and have been married for 17 years. They have three children: Jaxon, Molly and Maddox. All three attend HCCA.

Preschool and Junior Kindergarten
Lin was born in Georgia and moved to North Carolina as an infant. Her father was a Methodist minister. Her sophomore year of high school they moved to Oklahoma where she started her college journey before finishing in Kansas City. This will be Lin's third year teaching at HCCA.
In 1988, Lin married her husband David. They have two adult children that both graduated from Christian School so they are huge advocates for Christian Schools. She has over 25 years of experience with preschool age children. When Lin was about 10 or 11 years old she was saved at a Christian concert.

Junior Kindergarten and Kindergarten
Susan is a veteran teacher who has taught in both early childhood and elementary education; along with substituting secondary grade levels for 19 years. She began her teaching career at the Harrisonville Christian School in ‘93 and later was called to teach at Heartland Christian School where she taught for 14 years.
Susan was married to her first love, Ian Davis, for 45 years. She has 5 children and 10 grandchildren. All of their children attended Harrisonville Christian School and Heartland Christian School. This is Susan’s third year at HCCA.
It brings her so much joy to witness her children bringing up their own children in Christian education! Having her children recognize the importance of Christian education is a dream come true. She looks forward to being an integral part not only in her grandchildren’s lives but in the lives of her future students to come.
She is experiencing the joy spoken about in 3 John 1:4, “I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth.”

1st and 2nd Grade
Lisa has a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education with an emphasis in Early Childhood acquired from Southwest Baptist University in 1985. She was the teacher and director of Bright Beginnings Preschool at FBC in Peculiar, MO for ten years. Lisa has taught at the Little Blessings Preschool, Summit Christian Academy and Harrisonville Christian School. This is Lisa’s 3rd year at HCCA.
Lisa has been married to her husband, Howard, for 36 years. They have two grown sons. Daniel lives in Blue Springs and Tommy resides in Belton with his wife Sammie Jo and 8-year-old daughter Hailey. Lisa and Howard are active members of First Baptist Church of Peculiar where Lisa plays the piano, is the Nursery Coordinator, teaches preschool Sunday School and helps with women’s ministry. In her free time, Lisa likes to play with her granddaughter, sew, make things with her Cricut, and cans homemade jelly and jam.

3rd & 4th Grade
Sarah is a veteran teacher with over 10 years of experience in second, third, and fourth grade. She has a Bachelor’s degree in education and a Master’s degree in Elementary Math from The University of Central Missouri.
Sarah is married to Jeff Adkins and they have three sons. Liam and Henry live at home and attend their church’s school. She has a stepson, Tyler, who has Sarah and Jeff’s first granddaughter, Ana. Sarah has always had a passion for working with children, helping them to see their potential and know their worth through Jesus Christ. She is excited to join in the effort to provide Christian education here in Harrisonville, MO. In her free time, Sarah enjoys going to church, reading her bible, being outside, and spending time with family. This is Sarah’s 2nd year at HCCA.

5th and 6th Grade Homeroom
Paula is a veteran teacher with over 20 years of experience in all grade levels from Kindergarten through College. She has an education degree from John Brown University
in Siloam Spring, AR. This is Paula’s 6th year at HCCA.
Paula is married to Jake Kohl and they have two sons. Both of their sons attended Christian school growing up. Paula has a deep desire to see students learn and succeed in the classroom and seeks to personally help every student excel to the best of their ability. She is excited to join in the effort to provide Christian education here in Harrisonville, MO.

7th and 8th Grade Homeroom, PE and Cottage Academy Assistant
Hattie has a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Calvary Bible College and a Masters of Education in Teaching from the University of St. Mary’s.
Hattie taught for two years at Harrisonville Christian and five years at Summit Christian Academy before becoming a homeschooling mom. Hattie taught 2 years here at HCCA previously to taking last year off. She is returning again this year.
Hattie and her family live in Peculiar, MO and attend Manna Fellowship Church.

Assistant Principal, Athletic Director and 9th and 10th Grade Homeroom Teacher
Dale earned his Bachelor's Degree in Religious Studies and his Master's Degree in Global Studies from Liberty University. He started teaching history in 2019 at Johnson County Christian Academy and was asked to be the principal in 2020.
Dale moved to Kansas City in 2006 with his wife and two daughters and added a third daughter in 2009. He has been married to his wife for thirty years. He also has three dogs named Mopsey, Mack and Liza, a gecko named Bean, and a bearded dragon named Rango. In his free time, he likes to hunt, fish and play guitar. Dale worked for HCCA in 2023-2024 and is back with us again this year.
He has been the pastor at Church of Hope for 7 years and prior to becoming a pastor did mission work in Haiti. He helped plant two churches and build a school in Mare Rouge where there are over 350 students enrolled at the school.
Art, Logic School Literature and Language Arts
She has been an English and Literature teacher in the Philippines for 9 years and taught one school year in Indonesia before moving to the United States. She has a Bachelor of Arts in English and Literature and an Education degree in Secondary Education. She aspires for her students to have a constant curiosity and love for learning. This is Glyne’s 4th year at HCCA.
Glyne is married to Randall Piesker and they have one son, Noah. He is a fifth grader who has been attending HCCA since Kindergarten. Glyne’s Arts and Humanities subjects in college focused on Classical Art which she is motivated to convey to our HCCA kids.

Logic School Science
Howard has been teaching, coaching, and mentoring middle school students for 38 years (25 years in Blue Springs R IV). Before beginning his teaching career, he worked as a farmer, forester, forest fire fighter, naturalist, learn to camp programmer, and an armorer/PNCO instructor in the United States Army.
His credentials include an Associates of Science in Parks and Recreation Management, Bachelor of Science in Outdoor Education, Teacher Certification 5-12 in Earth Science, Life Science and Environmental Science, All Science 7-9, a Master of Science in Curriculum and Instruction + 40 hrs.
Howard has been married to Lisa (1st & 2nd Grade) for 37 years. They have two grown boys, a wonderful daughter in law, and the best granddaughter on the planet.
Since retiring from public school teaching, Howard stays busy at FBC Peculiar where he serves as a Deacon/Elder, Adult Sunday School teacher, Recreation Leader and Cook.
This is Howard’s 2nd year at HCCA.
A life-long love of the outdoors and endurance sports has not been deterred by his age as they remain a prominent part of his personal life. He is an avid camper, cyclist, trail runner, fisherman and fitness advocate. Having been a runner since 1975 he tried a trail marathon in 2001 and has been hooked on trails since that time. His favorite accomplishments include an 8 hour down and up of the Grand Canyon and, most recently, adventure course racing.
